On Sunday, August 23, 2015, more than 1350 devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission joined the Run for Cause as a part of the Thane Varsha Marathon for a stretch of 2 Kms. The cause they highlighted was Oneness.
The volunteers were sponsored by the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation at the invitation received from Shri Sanjay More, Mayor of Thane. The Marathon is being organized by the Mayor since the past 25 years as a multi-thematic event, the main theme being Clean Thane – Green Thane. Several other organizations who took part in the event sought to promote promoting their independent causes with one common aim of betterment of the society, of course.
The majority of participants in the Marathon came from the Sant Nirankari Mission in Sewa Dal uniform or donning the blue t-shirts and caps of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation. In addition, around 12,000 devotees of the Mission were present all along the route to cheer up the participants.
The Marathon was flagged off by Shri Eknath Shinde, Minister of PWD, Government of Maharashtra along with renowned actor Shri Swapnil Joshi. The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the enthusiasm and the spirit of dedication of Nirankari devotees in particular.
