Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation Organizes World Environment Day in Panchgani

In Panchgani, the programme started with the prayer at 8 am on Sharad Pandit Stadium Naka and more than 1500 volunteers of SNCF, Sewa Dal and others from Mumbai and Satara zone branches participated. Rev Raj Vasdev ji, Member I/c Parchar Vibhag represented the Headquarters. Rev Nand Kumar Jhambre Ji , Zonal Incharge , Satara was also present.

Blessing the participants Rev Raj Vasdev Ji said that pollution both inside and outside is harmful for the society. Plastic pollution is specifically harmful as plastic cannot be destroyed. While cleanliness of the external world is important, the internal cleaning should also be focused, she spoke over the importance of World Environment Day. Sant Nirankari Mission preaches us to see this Nirankar in each and every person and that unites us as a human family.  Then Pledge to keep our environment clean and free of plastic pollution was sworn to all the participants by Rev Lalit Dalvi Ji. Cleanliness was undertaken at Primary Health Centre and Gram Sthan Road between Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. Tree plantation was done at Khinger road, Shahu Nagar and Arthur road, Table Land road and Bhim Nagar.

Nukar Natak/ street play was repeatedly played by the volunteers of Satara zone at different places like Shivaji Chowk/ Table Land etc. to inspire people to spread the message not to use plastic as also to keep our environment neat and clean. Hundreds of local people gathered around the Nukad Natak spot and appreciated the efforts of SNCF. Earlier a rally was also held by hundreds of volunteers inspiring the people to curb the use of plastic. They carried placards with slogans such as “Beat the plastic pollution”, “Reduce plastic, and Make your Life fantastic”, “World needs a solution, Beat the Plastic Pollution”.

Guest of Honour Mrs Laxmi Karhadkar Ji, President Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council was welcome by providing Goodie Bag and a Tulsi Pot. In her address she spoke over the importance of World Environment Day in our daily life and lauded the efforts of SNCF. She appreciated the Sant Nirankari Mission for its exemplary contribution in voluntary Blood Donation and plantation drives. Mr Narayan Biramne, Vice President, mr Amin Hajiji, Brand Ambassador, MC, Swachh Bharat Mission and seven other Nagar Sewaks  of Panchgani Municipal Council were also present. All of them were properly welcome by organizers.

In the programme Twentyfive commercial umbrellas printed with the name and logo of SNCF were distributed amongst the rehri Vendors in the local market. Cotton bags were also distributed free among the public inspiring them to shun the use of plastic.
