Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation Organizes World Environment Day in Mahabaleshwar

In Mahabaleshwar, the programme started with the prayer at 8 am on Ray Garden Multy Storey Car Parking near ST Bus Stand than 2000 volunteers of SNCF, Sewa Dal and others from Mumbai and Satara zone branches participated. Rev Vasdev Singh ji Up Mukhya Sanchalak Sewa Dal, represented the Headquarters. Rev Nand Kumar Jhambre Ji , Zonal Incharge , Satara was also present.

Blessing the participants Sh Vasdev Singh Ji said that pollution both inside and outside is harmful for the society. Plastic pollution is specifically harmful as plastic cannot be destroyed. While cleanliness of the external world is important, the internal cleaning should also be focused, he spoke over the importance of World Environment Day.  Then Pledge to keep our environment clean and free of plastic pollution was sworn to all the participants by Rev Lalit Dalvi Ji. Cleanliness was undertaken MGM Hospital Compound, front and back areas of Venna lake, Shree Kshetra Mahabaleshwar and lake behind Bharat Hotel.

Nukar Natak/ street play was repeatedly played by the volunteers of Satara zone at five different places to inspire people to spread the message not to use plastic as also to keep our environment neat and clean. Hundreds of local people gathered around the Nukad Natak spot and appreciated the efforts of SNCF. Later cotton bags were also distributed to the tourists and general public for creating awareness against the use of Plastic. Earlier a rally was also held by hundreds of volunteers inspiring the people to curb the use of plastic. They carried placards with slogans such as “Beat the plastic pollution”, “Reduce plastic, and Make your Life fantastic”

Guest of Honour Mrs Laxmi Karhadkar Ji, President Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council was welcome by providing Goodie Bag and a Tulsi Pot. In her address she spoke over the importance of World Environment Day in our daily life and lauded the efforts of SNCF. She appreciated the Sant Nirankari Mission for its exemplary contribution in voluntary Blood Donation and plantation drives.

In the programme fifty commercial umbrellas printed with the name and logo of SNCF were distributed amongst the rehri Vendors in the local market. Cotton bags were also distributed free among the public inspiring them to shun the use of plastic.
