Inauguration of Second Cement Nallah Bund (C.N.B) at Kasacha Utar, Saiwan, Maharashtra

With the blessings of Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, inauguration ceremony of Cement Nallah Bund (C.N.B.), popularly referred as “Dam”, was held on 21st February, 2021 at Kasacha Utar, Village Saiwan, Taluka Dahanu, District Palghar of Maharashtra in the august presence of Rev. Brig. P.S. Cheema Ji (Retd.) (General Secretary of Sant Nirankari Mandal, Member of Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation) and Rev. Joginder Sukhija Ji (Secretary and Member Incharge-Social Welfare).

Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation is working on a major project in Saiwan area of Maharashtra. The second Cement Drain Dam of the Watershed Programme was inaugurated on this day in commemoration Baba Hardev Singh Ji’s birth anniversary. Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj started many works for the tribals living in this backward area since 1998. In the year 2017, this Watershed Programme was approved by Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj. In pursuing these works and the first phase of this project visited and blessed by Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj in February, 2020 for the benefit of local residents. With Her grace these works are now being carried forward with a new energy and spirit.

This is the second such project in the village Saiwan of Palghar District, aimed at providing potable water to the arid zones of Maharashtra. Dignitaries were briefed on the project by Ms. Shraddha Shringarpure and Mr. Rahul Tiwrekar of Diganta Swaraj Foundation who have been associated with the project as Technical Experts. Experts Ms. Shraddha Shringarpure and Mr. Rahul Tiwrekar emphasized on holistic and sustainable development of the village citing the need of tools to curb migration, promote education, agriculture and expressed that watershed program in the region is a stepping stone towards achieving it. Rev. Joginder Sukhija Ji reiterated the feeling of “Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam” and reminded the teachings of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj that “Life gets a meaning when it is lived for others”. Rev. Sukhija Ji conveyed his regards towards Holy Sister Rev. Bindiya Chhabra Ji and Rev. S.C. Talwar Ji who pioneered the project. Rev. Sukhija Ji also expressed his humble gratitude towards Rev. Ramit Chandna Ji for not only participating in the inauguration ceremony but, also conveying the message of Her Holiness as a tribute to Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on His birth anniversary. Rev. Brig. P.S. Cheema Ji remembered how the project is inspired by the teachings of Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and Satguru Mata Savinder Hardev Ji Maharaj of “Service to Humanity”. Rev. Brig. P.S. Cheema Ji recalled the beginning of the project wherein the issues in the region were identified through a scientific survey. He sought blessings at the Holy feet of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj for the progress of the project and welfare of humanity.

After effects of any project is the measure of its success and this was showcased when dignitaries were presented with vegetables, which were yield on the water stored in the dam and through means of organic farming. This marks a little success of the project and cautions towards the ultimate aim to achieve holistic and sustainable development. Apart from the inauguration ceremony of the 2nd Dam, sites of 1st Dam, proposed 3rd dam and repaired well were also visited. It was also discussed to repair another existing dam nearby; as the location of the 3rd dam. A small exhibition was also organised highlighting various other social activities carried out in the village Saiwan such as health and eye checkup camps, grocery distribution, scholarship distribution, school renovation and stationary distribution, floriculture etc. A Tree Plantation and Adoption Drive was also conducted near the sites of the 1st dam at Girhe Dahad and 2nd dam at Kasacha Utar as a part of the country wide drive being held from 21st to 23rd February, 2021 as a tribute to Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj on the occasion of His birth anniversary on 23rd February.
