Oneness Vann
This innovative initiative was launched in 2021 to tackle deforestation by transforming neglected areas into flourishing mini-forests. With hundreds of these ecosystems across India, Oneness Vann is fostering biodiversity and restoring the environment, one tiny plot at a time.

Inspired by the enlightened words of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Mission has embarked on a sustained endeavour to contribute to the well-being of society through its socio-charitable initiatives. Recognising the detrimental effects of internal and external pollution, the Mission has steadfastly committed to environmental conservation and protection.
In August 2021, under the divine guidance of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, the Sant Nirankari Mission launched an ambitious project titled “Oneness Vann.” This Mega Project aimed to protect and restore the environment by planting micro and mini forests called “clusters of trees.” These clusters were grown and maintained for the next three to five years to ensure their growth and sustainability. Across India, 317 such sites were identified, and 130,000 saplings were planted in the first phase.
Inaugurating this campaign, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj remarked, “The life-sustaining air we receive from trees makes it imperative for us to create forests in various locations to maintain the balance of this vital resource on Earth. This will lead to the production of more oxygen, resulting in purer air. Just as the ‘Oneness Vann’ embodies the vision of unity in diversity, humanity too must forget all differences and embrace the spirit of peaceful coexistence to enhance the world.”
In addition on the occasion of World Senior Citizens Day on same day, Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj emphasized the importance of the blessings of elders, comparing them to trees, which are equally essential for our lives- “Vraddha Ka Saaya,Vraksh Ki Chaaya”.
The success of the project in its first year fueled its expansion. With continued blessings from Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, the Oneness Vann initiative, we entered its second and third phases in August 2022 and 2023, respectively. These efforts led to the establishment additional sites, bringing the total number of sites to 503. By the end of the third phase, 185,000 trees had been planted and were under active nationwide maintenance.
The Oneness Vann project was a testament to the Sant Nirankari Mission’s dedication to environmental stewardship. Each planted sapling symbolised a step towards a greener, healthier planet, embodying the mission’s core values of unity and compassion for all living beings.
The Sant Nirankari Mission’s dedication to environmental conservation continued unabated throughout 2024. Under the guidance of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, the Oneness Vann project expanded significantly with the addition of new and larger clusters. These new sites were inaugurated on August 11, 2024 (Sunday), further expanding the initiative’s reach and impact.
On this day, the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation inaugurated one of the largest sites under the ‘Oneness Vann’ project in the village of Atta, Panipat, Haryana. At this site, volunteers and followers of the Sant Nirankari Mission enthusiastically planted nearly 25,000 saplings and committed to nurturing these trees for three to five years to ensure they develop into a ‘mini forest.’
The Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini, attended the event. He praised the Mission’s philanthropic efforts and noted that the Sant Nirankari Mission, established in 1929, is fundamentally dedicated to selfless service to humanity. This service encompasses various dimensions, including health, blood donation, eye donation, and free medical services. Protecting nature is also a sacred aspect of this selfless service. The harmful effects of environmental pollution are evident to all of us. Reflecting on Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji’s message—‘Pollution, whether internal or external, is harmful’—the Nirankari Mission’s volunteers are actively engaged in such projects.
He further emphasized that planting trees is essential for the protection of humanity and encouraged everyone to plant a tree and commit to its care to advance our civilization and culture. Such initiatives are undoubtedly a significant step toward protecting nature, with the Nirankari Mission playing an active role. He concluded by expressing heartfelt gratitude to Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj and Nirankari Rajpita Ramit Ji, stating that it was his great honor to participate in this sacred program.
Sh. Joginder Sukhija, Secretary of the Sant Nirankari Mission, shared that this project has been implemented at over 600 locations across India, in addition to Haryana. As the Earth grapples with global warming, the importance of tree planting has increased significantly. The Nirankari Mission is actively contributing to environmental conservation through various initiatives and making a meaningful contribution to societal welfare.
The “Oneness Vann” initiative contributes to the fight against environmental degradation and fosters a sense of collective responsibility and unity among humans. It serves as a living reminder of the mission’s enduring pledge to protect our planet for future generations, ensuring that the wisdom of Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj continues to inspire efforts towards a sustainable and harmonious world.
