RELIEF TO EARTHQUAKE SUFFERERS IN NEPAL

As we all know, a vast area of Nepal was hit by a devastating earthquake on April 25, 2015. The capital city of the country, Kathmandu was perhaps the worst hit. The devotees of the Sant Nirankari Mission led by Shri Narbahadur Rawal, President, Sant Nirankari Mandal Nepal rushed immediately for the rescue and relief of the sufferers. They included 1400 volunteers of the Sant Nirankari Sewadal. The local Satsang Bhawan at Katmandu was converted into a relief camp where about 700 people have been receiving all kinds of help including food and medicines etc.

Even though more than 260 Nirankari families lost their houses, the relief provided by the Mission under the aegis of the Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation was meant for all.

On a request from the Sant Nirankari Mandal Nepal two truckloads of material with tents and blankets sent on emergency from Headquarters. According to Rev C.L. Gulati, Secretary, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, the material included tarpaulins along with nylon ropes for tents and woolen blankets. Brig. P.S. Cheema, Member Incharge of the Medical and Social Welfare Department of the Sant Nirankari Mandal and a leading Member of the Foundation accompanied by Shri Purshotam Lal from Delhi personally handed over the material to Shri Yadav Prasad Koirala, Deputy Commissioner, Lalitpur on May 10, 2015.
